By accessing or using SafeTea ("the Platform"), operated by SafeTea ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use SafeTea. By registering, you confirm that you are 18 or older.
SafeTea is a privacy-first dating safety platform that allows users to share dating experiences, search community mentions of individuals, verify their identity, and access safety tools. SafeTea is not a dating app — it is a community-driven safety resource.
To use SafeTea, you must create an account using a valid email address. You agree to provide accurate information during registration.
SafeTea uses a device-based identity verification system. Verification may be required to access certain features. All verification data (selfies, ID images) is processed and permanently deleted immediately after review. SafeTea does not store biometric data, ID images, or social media credentials — only the verification result (pass/fail) and timestamp.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and must not share your login credentials.

SafeTea strictly prohibits the posting of personally identifiable information (PII) that could be used to identify, locate, or harm another person. This includes but is not limited to: full legal names (first and last), home or work addresses, employer names, phone numbers, license plates, and social media handles posted with intent to harass. Posts that share PII will be removed immediately and may result in account suspension or permanent ban. If you believe someone has posted your personal information, submit a removal request or contact legal@getsafetea.app.
SafeTea hosts community-generated posts in its "Tea Talk — Safety Support Chat" feed and in private Sorority Rooms. All community content must be general safety discussion, red flags, tips, or cautionary stories — not the naming, identification, evaluation, or discussion of specific individuals. By posting content, you represent that your statements are truthful and based on your personal experience, and that you are not identifying any specific person. You retain ownership of your content, but grant SafeTea a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, distribute, and moderate your posts on the Platform.
SafeTea does not verify the accuracy of user-submitted posts. We are not responsible for the content posted by users. If you believe a post contains false or defamatory information about you, you may submit a removal request through the Platform.
SafeTea is an interactive platform that enables users to create, submit, and share content. All content posted on SafeTea is solely the responsibility of the user who created it. SafeTea does not create, verify, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy of user-submitted content.
SafeTea does not verify the truthfulness, accuracy, or reliability of any user-submitted content. Any statements, claims, or allegations made within the Platform are those of the individual user and do not reflect the views of SafeTea.
SafeTea may utilize automated systems, including artificial intelligence, to identify potentially harmful or policy-violating content. These systems are advisory in nature only and do not create, modify, or contribute to user content. Final moderation decisions are made in accordance with our community guidelines and these Terms. The use of AI moderation tools does not constitute editorial control over user content.
SafeTea allows users to search community posts by name. Search results display publicly available community posts. SafeTea does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or relevance of search results. Users should exercise their own judgment when evaluating information found through these features.

Some features require a paid SafeTea+ subscription ($7.99/month or $66.99/year). Payment is processed through Stripe (web), Apple In-App Purchase (iOS), or Google Play (Android). By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges to your payment method. Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled before the renewal date.
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings (web), Apple Settings (iOS), or Google Play (Android). Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain access until then.
Refunds, failed payments, price changes, and all billing details are governed by our Cancellation & Billing Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
The SafeTea name, logo, design, and all original content on the Platform are owned by SafeTea and protected by copyright and trademark laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.
SafeTea is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
SafeTea is a community information tool — not a law enforcement database, or substitute for personal safety precautions. We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of any user-generated content. Always exercise caution and sound judgment in your dating life.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SafeTea and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform, including but not limited to damages resulting from reliance on user-generated content, unauthorized access to your account, or any third-party conduct on the Platform.
You agree to indemnify and hold SafeTea harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another person.
If you believe content on SafeTea infringes your copyright or intellectual property rights, please contact us at legal@getsafetea.app with a description of the claimed infringement. We will review and respond to valid takedown requests in accordance with applicable law.
In compliance with the TAKE IT DOWN Act (signed into law May 2025), SafeTea will remove any reported non-consensual intimate imagery (NCII) — including AI-generated intimate imagery — within 48 hours of receiving a valid removal request. To report NCII:
We will process removal requests promptly and take additional action against the uploading account, including potential permanent ban and referral to law enforcement where appropriate. Knowingly uploading NCII is a violation of federal law and SafeTea's Terms of Service.
SafeTea may disclose user information to law enforcement agencies in response to valid legal process (such as subpoenas, court orders, or search warrants). We will comply with applicable laws regarding data preservation and disclosure requests.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms or for any reason at our discretion. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the Platform or by email. Your continued use of SafeTea after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of SafeTea shall be resolved in the courts located in Cook County, Illinois.
